Have a fantastic Memorial Day Weekend ahead!
May 23 2018 - There Goes Netflix! May 23 2018 - There Goes Netflix! The major indexes gapped lower to start the day but finished near the highs by day's end.

We've highlighted the ascending triangle pattern on Netflix (NFLX) lately and today it busted out with authority. The stock soared $13.10 (+$3.95%) on solid volume. An 8-day or 20-day EMA could be potentially considered as a momentum end-of-day trailing stop.

Apple (AAPL) and Amazon (AMZN) are 'coiling' right now and could reignite a bullish market run. After hitting new all-time highs two weeks ago, both tech leaders have gone nowhere fast since. One good piece of news could send these two (and the tech market) jumping higher.

One other stock 'coiling' is actually the Transports ETF (IYT). The ETF has been trapped for 3+ months between $180 and $195. If it breaks out to the upside, it could add further bullish fuel to the fire.

This all adds up to the bulls having the edge as the week begins. Keep an eye on the 200-day SMA to the downside if selling comes back into the market.

We also discuss, SMH, XLF, XLU, SYMC, FB, AAPL, AMZN, NFLX, NVDA, GOOGL and more.

Have a fantastic Friday!
May 9 2018 - Nasdaq Breaks Out May 9 2018 - Nasdaq Breaks Out The QQQ's jumped 1.09% and closed above the previous swing high set back on April 18th. This now shifts the daily charts to more of a neutral-to-bullish view. The bulls are slowing making progress across the board. Continue to keep an eye on the 200-day SMA if any selling pressure resumes as it remains a big line-in-the-sand support level.

We also discuss TWLO, ROKU, FOSL, WB, SMH, XLF and more.

Have a fantastic day!
May 8 2018 - Blue Apron Breaking Out & GOGO Gets Creamed May 8 2018 - Blue Apron Breaking Out & GOGO Gets Creamed IWM (Russell 2000 ETF) continues to lead the charge higher. Blue Apron (APRN) tacked on 11.37% and is now breaking out to the upside (technical targets inside the video). Gogo (GOGO) lost 35.66% today on the heels of a credit downgrade. If 'protective puts' were used for earnings a few days ago, they would have literally saved some serious bacon today for GOGO shareholders. We also discuss FLR, ADBE and more.

Have a great day!
May 7 2018 - AAPL, ADBE, NVDA Leading Tech Higher May 7 2018 - AAPL, ADBE, NVDA Leading Tech Higher AAPL did come off its higher but still finished up 0.72%. ADBE & NVDA are now within pennies of hitting new all-time highs as well.

The 200-day SMA is definitely a technical line-in-the-sand. A close below that key institutional level could open up another wave of selling pressure. In today's video, we also outline upside targets as well.

We also discuss GIS, AMZN, AAPL, GS and more.

Have a fantastic Friday ahead!

The bears maintain the edge on the short-term daily charts.

We also discuss TSLA and NVDA's tough day, along with FB, AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL, AMZN and more.

Have a great day!

Mar 6 2018 - Cohn Resigns - Futures Selling Off Mar 6 2018 - Cohn Resigns - Futures Selling Off IWM (Russell 2000 ETF) and MDY (Midcaps ETF) performed the best today, both adding over 1%. We also discuss BBY, WTW, UPS, NFLX, NVDA and more.

Have a great day!
Mar 5 2018 - Dow Rallies Into Resistance Mar 5 2018 - Dow Rallies Into Resistance Dow ETF (DIA) had a nice rally today and ran right into the overhead resistance we highlighted in yesterday's video. Have a fantastic Monday!
Feb 24 2018 - Bulls Back in Charge Feb 24 2018 - Bulls Back in Charge The bulls start the week with the edge now that QQQ, SPY and DIA have regained their moving averages and closed to new near-term highs since the Feb 9 low. $VIX is also trending bearish (back below 17), which is bullish for equities.

We also discuss CAT, MMM, IWM, MDY, FB, AAPL, AMZN, NFLX, GOOGL and more.

Have a great week ahead!
Feb 22 2018 - Stocks 'Holding On'... Feb 22 2018 - Stocks 'Holding On'... In yesterday's video, we talked about how the Dow (DIA) was starting to 'roll over'. Today, DIA inched up a little bit but did not clear any upside resistance points. SPY, IWM & MDY seem to be holding onto their moving averages and going nowhere fast. The QQQ's continue to hold up the best. Overall, the technical picture for the major ETFs is 'neutral' heading into Friday.

We also discuss XLF, TSN, JNJ, FB, AAPL, GOOGL, AMZN, NFLX and more.

Have a fantastic Friday ahead!
Feb 21 2018 - Dow Starting To Roll Over Feb 21 2018 - Dow Starting To Roll Over The Dow was the worst of the indexes today from a technical perspective. The Dow ETF (DIA) is now below its cluster of moving averages and finished near the lows the day. The downside targets are the Feb 9th low (retest) and the 200-day SMA.

We also discuss SPY, $VIX, QQQ, AAPL, AMZN, NFLX, NVDA, GOOGL, BA and more.

Have a great day!
Feb 20 2018 - Walmart Gets Hammered (Down 10%) Feb 20 2018 - Walmart Gets Hammered (Down 10%) SPY and DIA finished lower today but there was no real change in the technical picture from last night's video. QQQ's performed the best but remain in a bull flag pattern.

WMT got hammered today, losing 10.18% on a massive spike in volume. The high profile downside target is the 200-day SMA, which is another 4% - 7% lower. We also discuss ADBE, AMZN, NFLX & NVDA.

Have a great day!
Feb 18 2018 - Bulls start the week with an edge Feb 18 2018 - Bulls start the week with an edge The SPY, DIA and QQQ's daily and weekly charts are technically bullish to start the week when trading resumes on Tuesday. The $VIX is trending lower, which is bullish for equities as well.

While the bulls won the pre-holiday week again, stocks like AMZN, NFLX, NVDA and BA did not break out to new all-time highs. They were stopped cold at their previous highs, which now creates a potential ' double-top' formation. A close to new highs would quickly solve this 'concern'.

Have a great week ahead!
Feb 15 2018 - Apple Surges on Buffett News Feb 15 2018 - Apple Surges on Buffett News The QQQ's continue to lead the bulls' charge higher, adding 1.86% and finishing at the highs of the day.

SPY & DIA have also now joined the party, both closing above their 20-day EMA & 50-day SMAs. IWM & MDY both continue to lag.

Apple (AAPL) surged higher today on news Berkshire increased their stake in the tech company.

We also discuss ADBE, CSCO, NFLX, TEVA, XLF and more.

Have a great day!
Feb 14 2018 - QQQ's Break Out Feb 14 2018 - QQQ's Break Out QQQ's surged higher today to close above both the 20-day EMA and 50-day SMA, triggering a technical buy signal. SPY and DIA did move higher today too but did not breach their own moving averages. Ideally, the bulls would want to see all three major ETFs breaking out together so some caution is still warranted.

We also discuss NFLX, CAT, BBY, NVDA, KLAC, GLD, SLV, GDX and more.

Happy Valentine's Day!
Feb 13 2018 - Kohls & Under Armour on the move Feb 13 2018 - Kohls & Under Armour on the move The major indexes moved slightly higher today and all eyes will be on the 20-day EMA & 50-day SMAs to the north. The combination of these two moving averages coming together can easily act as a resistance zone or if they are broken, would put the bulls back in control of the technical trend.

Kohls (KSS) triggered a buy signal today and has held up quite well during the overall market decline. Under Armour (UAA) gapped higher on earnings and is now testing the 200-day SMA. If KSS can close above it, there is the potential for some significant upside targets.

Have a great day!
Feb 12 2018 - Key Price Points To Watch For... Feb 12 2018 - Key Price Points To Watch For... Stock bulls pushed prices higher today but the major indexes still need to cross above their respective 20-day EMAs & 50-day SMAs before they would gain the upper hand (technically). We outline what bullish & bearish levels to watch for in tonight's video.

We also discuss DE, DG, NFLX, AAPL, AMZN, FB and more.

Have a great day!

Feb 11 2018 - Markets Bounce But... Feb 11 2018 - Markets Bounce But... After a highly volatile week and an early Friday sell-off, the S&P 500 ETF (SPY) got close to its 200-day SMA, which prompted some short covering along with some buyers stepping in as well.

If the 200-day SMA fails to hold as support, another round of selling pressure could ensue. Right now, $VIX is in a 'bull flag' formation which is bearish for equities.

In today's video, we take a look at the daily and weekly charts of the major indexes along with AAPL, GOOGL, AMZN, XHB, XLF, SMH and more.

Have a great week ahead!
Feb 7 2018 - Rally Fails, Bears Still In Charge Feb 7 2018 - Rally Fails, Bears Still In Charge The bulls made a charge higher today but failed to remain above their key moving averages by day's end. The near-term downside technical target would be Tuesday's lows. The $VIX did fall today, but remains in a bullish posture (which is bearish for equities right now).

We also discuss AAPL, CMG, TLT, GLD and more.

Have a great day!
Feb 6 2018 - Massive Rally, But... Feb 6 2018 - Massive Rally, But... There were multiple 1,000 point moves in the Dow Jones from last night's close (overnight) through today's close. It was a wild roller coaster ride that finished with the bulls winning out and the Dow finishing higher by 567 points.

There seemed to be a bunch of buyers waiting for stocks to hit major institutional moving averages across the board and that is when the markets turned higher. These high profile moving averages need to hold or it could get ugly again real quick if they are broken.

While there was a rally today, most stocks and major index ETFS were not able to close above all of their recently broken moving averages, leaving the bears with the upper hand going into the rest of this week.

We outline what price levels to watch on the indexes (and higher profile stocks) if the selling pressure resumes.

We also discuss SPY, QQQ, DIA, IWM, MDY, VIX, AAPL, AXP, AMZN, GOOGL, HAL, SLB, M, ADBE, NFLX, SKX, XHB, XLE and more.

Have a great day!
Feb 5 2018 - Markets Get Hammered Feb 5 2018 - Markets Get Hammered The markets sold off hard today and the VIX soared 115% to levels not seen since the summer of 2015. On a daily basis the major index ETFs are oversold but the trend is now firmly down in the near-term. Downside targets are provided inside the video.

We also discuss GLD, AAPL, GOOGL, MMM, DE, GIS, PG, JNJ, FB, AMZN, NFLX, XHB, XLE, XRT, XLR and more.

Have a great day!
Feb 4 2018 - Market Pullback Underway Feb 4 2018 - Market Pullback Underway The major index ETFs (SPY, DIA & QQQ) sold off hard on Friday and finished at the lows of the day. They are now firmly below their 20-day EMAs. The next most immediate downside target would be their 50-day SMAs. IWM (Small Caps) & MDY (Midcaps), who were already below their own 20-day EMAs have now closed beneath their 50-day SMAs.

$VIX finished higher at 17.31 but given the massive sell off in equities, the 'fear index' did not rise in true 'panic fashion'. TLT (Bonds) broke out of their 7-month trading range to the downside.

We also discuss IYT, XLE, XHB, XLF, AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL, NFLX, NVDA, ADBE and more.

Have a great week!
Feb 1 2018 - AMZN Surging, GOOGL Falling after earnings Feb 1 2018 - AMZN Surging, GOOGL Falling after earnings The big '3' reported after the bell today. AMZN is surging to new all time highs after the bell, while GOOGL is down about $25 - $30 as of this video. AAPL is up about 5 bucks after its report, but as of now it simply places the stock back inside its multi-month trading range.

We also discuss a protective put example on UPS, along with PYPL, VIX, SPY, QQQ & IWM.

Have a fantastic Friday!
Jan 31 2018 - Small & Midcaps Break Support Jan 31 2018 - Small & Midcaps Break Support The IWM (Small Cap ETF) and MDY (Midcap ETF) both broke below their 20-day EMAs today ending the bulls' short-term run for now. Their downside targets are the 50-day SMAs. Despite today's sell off in IWM, the $RVX actually fell.

We also discuss SFLY, FB, MSFT, AAPL, AMZN, GOOGL and more.

Have a great day!
Jan 30 2018 - Polaris, Scotts, Harley-Davidson get hit hard Jan 30 2018 - Polaris, Scotts, Harley-Davidson get hit hard SPY, DIA & QQQ all finished in the red today and never recovered from their early morning gaps lower. Despite today's selling, there is still no major technical damage done to the big three.

Polaris (PII), Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) and Harley-Davidson (HOG) all were beat up today due to their earnings reports, which highlights the value of protective puts in front of fixed news events like earnings.

We also discuss UNH, AMZN, AET, CI, MET, AAPL, IWM, MDY and more.

Have a great day!

Jan 29 2018 - VIX is rising... Jan 29 2018 - VIX is rising... SPY, DIA and QQQ all finished in the red, but still remain above their 5-day EMAs, which is bullish. However, $VIX jumped 24.91% to a measly 13.84. Anytime the $VIX jumps 20%+ is noteworthy but given how low the volatility index was trading... it is only a 'yellow flag' at best. $VXN also jumped today too.

We also discuss VMW, DVMT, NFLX, WYNN, SBUX, AGN and more.

Have a great day!
Jan 28 2018 - SPY & QQQ Overbought On Weeklies Jan 28 2018 - SPY & QQQ Overbought On Weeklies SPY & QQQ are now overbought on their weekly charts. The next likely move from a probability perspective is to have somewhat of a pause in the trend (on a weekly basis).

We also discuss TXN, BABA, AAPL, FB, NFLX, GOOGL, AMZN and more.

Have a great weekend.
Jan 25 2018 - INTC Up 4%, JBLU Joins Airline Sell Off Jan 25 2018 - INTC Up 4%, JBLU Joins Airline Sell Off INTC announced earnings after the close today and the stock was up between 4% and 5% as of this video. Despite the jump, INTC remains range bound. SBUX was headed in the other direction, down 5% after announcing its own earnings after the bell.

Yesterday we talked about how the airlines are bearish this time of year and JBLU was up next to report earnings. Result? The stock is down 6.17% right on schedule. The power of Seasonality and earnings reports continues to be astounding.

We also discuss UNP, WGO, TEVA, NFLX, GLD and more.

Have a great day!
Jan 24 2018 - Airlines Sell Off On Schedule Jan 24 2018 - Airlines Sell Off On Schedule The major indexes finished mixed today. Both $VIX (S&P) and $VXN (Nasdaq 100) finished higher but like we mentioned last night, the recent rise in the volatility indexes could also be due to upcoming earnings concerns (i.e. hedging). So far, neither the VIX nor VXN is 'breaking out' to the upside just yet.

The airlines sold off right on schedule today. This is a seasonally weak time of year where the 'bad news' seems to come out. AAL, DAL, UAL and others were all down today.

We also discuss GLD, SLV, TXN, CARA, AMZN, NVDA, NFLX and more.

Have a great day!
