Rally Fizzles, Stocks Finish Near Lows of the Day

The bulls tried to stage a rally intraday and failed. The bears quickly pounced and sent the major index ETFs back down to the lows of the day. The QQQ's did manage to eek out a small gain. Banking stocks continue to get hit hard. Given we've just had three straight heavy selling days, the chance of a rebound on Thursday or Friday is definitely possible.
